AB - Physical, mechanical and carbonation progress properties of air lime mortars, formulated with the addition of air entrainers, were analyzed, aiming to investigate the influence of air entrainers on abovementioned properties of lime-based products. Samples were cured in two curing conditions and their properties were evaluated after 14, 28, 60 and 90 days. The results obtained revealed that the addition of air entrainers influences the change in dynamics between drying and carbonation processes, therefore influencing the rate of carbonation process. This observation was reflected in carbonation progress as well as physical and mechanical properties of the tested samples.

AB - In the proposed design concept, laminated glass and laminated plexiglass, as “unconventional
materials”, are considered as a filling in a steel frame on which they overlap by the intermediate rubber layer, thereby forming a composite assembly. In this way vertical elements of stiffening are formed, capable for reception of seismic force and integrated into the structural system of the building. The applicability of such a system was verified by experiments in laboratory conditions where the experimental models based on laminated glass and laminated plexiglass had been exposed to the cyclic loads that simulate the seismic force. In this way the load capacity of composite assemblies was tested for the effects of dynamic load that was parallel to assembly plane. Thus, the stress intensity to which composite systems might be exposed was determined as well as the range of the structure stiffening referring to the expressed deformation along with
the advantages of a particular type of filling compared to the other one. Using specialized software whose operation is based on the finite element method, a computer model of the structure was created and processed in the case study; the same computer model was used for analysing the problem in the first phase of the design process. The stiffening system based on composite assemblies tested in laboratories is implemented in the computer model. The results of the modal analysis and seismic calculation from the computer model with stiffeners applied showed an efficacy of such a solution, thus rounding the design procedures for aseismic stiffening by using unconventional materials.

AB - Protecting the built cultural heritage is one of the most important tasks in architectural
practice. The process of repair is time-consuming, weather-dependent, and sensitive to materials
applied. Introducing new materials in historic building repair in order to decrease the time needed
for repair, brings some risk in the preservation process. The most common material for masonry
repair is lime mortar. Adding cement to lime mortar can improve the mechanical properties of mortar and speed up the repair process. The high amount of cement may increase the strength, but decrease ductility and permeability of mortar, causing damages to protected buildings. An increase in strength with the smallest amounts of cement demands optimization of water content in the mixture. Tests were performed to investigate the influence of the water/binder (w/b = water/(lime + cement) ratio on mortar strength and water permeability. An air-entraining agent (AEG) was introduced to improve permeability. Results confirmed that adding small amounts of cement to lime (20% by weight) and decreasing of w/b ratio, improves the strength, with almost negligible influence on water permeability. The addition of very small amounts of AEG did not decrease the strength, nor the permeability.

AB - The importance of masonry arch bridges as a traffic network element calls for a thorough
analysis focused on both structural stability and loading capacity of these historical structures, considering
the usage of these bridges in contemporary traffic conditions. This paper focuses on the analysis
of longitudinal cracks in a single span masonry arch bridge to evaluate its influence on structural
behaviour of the system. As longitudinal cracks do not necessarily present an inevitable collapse
mechanism, analysis of the causes is crucial for evaluating the serviceability and functionality of the
bridge investigated. The methodology is based on the following: literature review, observation of the
stone bridge in Ivanjica, geological testing of the site, geophysical testing of the bridge, laboratory
testing of mechanical characteristics of stone used for the bridge construction and biological analysis
of the samples of implemented materials on the bridge. Finite element analysis of the bridge was
conducted to define the causes of the longitudinal cracks. The 3D simulation model was based on
the data collected through observation and experimental analysis. This paper provides extensive
research on a single span masonry bridge, examining how different deterioration mechanisms, in
conjunction, can lead to the appearance of cracks in masonry arch bridges and provide remedial
measures accordingly.

AB - The development of new materials and technologies is one of the greatest initiator of new architectural thought. Development within the long-standing continuous improvement of wood as material was induced by technological development and new market demands. Good mechanical and physical properties of wood and its easy accessibility, initiated further development and improvement of products based on this material. The aims of this improvement are more rational wood application and improvement of its physical and mechanical properties in regard to monolithic wood. In particular significant are wood-based products made from veneer layers, plywood and laminated veneer lumber (LVL). These materials stand out from other wood-based panel materials due to their mechanical and aesthetic performance. Previous application of veneer-based panels as a structural element in architecture has been implied as secondary or tertiary structural elements which transfer the load to supporting structural members, or to stiffen wooden structures. Recognition a good mechanical property of the material and its advantages as a small self-weight encouraged examining the possibilities of using wood-based panel products as the primary structural support element in exoskeleton structures, i.e. using building envelope as object structure. Application plywood and LVL is research study, so in this paper authors will analyze the possibilities of using these products as an exoskeleton supporting element, through case studies of realized experimental structures. Through research realised structures will be analysed, with a focus on shell structures. They will be evaluated through recognition of its advantages and disadvantages, especially those are directly conditioned by the structural characteristics of the material. Analyses of structures will be done according following criteria: structure design, spatial stability, span constraints, possibilities of loads the structure can support and connections between elements. In order to encourage use of veneer-based panels as load-bearing element in the exoskeleton structure, the paper will set guidelines for further research in this area and will recommend possibilities to improve mechanical characteristics of material. Rationalization of the use of wood-based panels in folded structures will highlight in paper. Forming exoskeleton structure from this material contributes rational use of the structure and raw wood materials saving.

1. Проста греда;
2. Греда са препустом;
3. Полигонална проста греда;
4. Решеткасти носач;
5. Герберов носач;
6. Лук на три зглоба;
7. Континуални носач;
приказано више решених примера, за различите геометрије носача и различта оптерећења. Приказани примери се често срећу у објектима у пракси, а успешно савладано градиво на вежбама омогућиће да студенти са лакоћом могу да савладају и било које друге сличне типове конструкција.

AB - Traditional buildings are of great significance for exploring the architectural heritage and cultural
identity. Created in the local context, reflecting the attitude of people towards the environment,
these houses are built with traditional techniques and locally available building materials. In
Serbia, in Vojvodina region, and other regional flat land there is a rich history of use of earth
as a building material and a large number of traditional rammed earth houses to be held until
today. Most of these buildings are still in use, but often trumble-down and failing to fulfill
current living standards and needs. Because of that the need for preservation and renovation
of traditional buildings is recognised as an important step in the process of their recognition
as an important part of the architectural heritage of today. The problem is that the majority of
traditional architectural heritage has not been officially designated as a cultural asset or a part
of the cultural and historical sites, therefore it does not enjoy an adequate form of protection
which can cause degradation of buildings identity during preservation processes.
The main question of this research refers to appropriate ways of presentation of traditional
architecture, in order to recognize and provide a better understanding of architectural heritage
and cultural identity. Different approaches toward presentation of traditional buildings will be
analysed trough current framework of protection practice and case studies both in Serbia and
the region, pointing out possible problems and potentials in these actions as well as giving
recommendations for future treatment of this type of buildings. This research aims to find
solutions for adequate presentation of traditional buildings, pointing out their great significance
of architectural heritage, and also it serves as an experience to improve our own relationship
toward heritage in future work.

AB - The paper presents an overview of the results based on the integration of traditional (analogue) and instrumental (digital) methods of heritage surveying. The thematic framework was stimulated by participation at the professional workshop in Lizori, in Italy, held in June 2018.. This specific methodological framework of integrated research, uses different tools, in the function of morphological specifications of different parts of a historical building. The very nature of architectural heritage requires the integration of different methods in order to achieve an adequate level of accuracy. The project of digitization of the Lizori village aims to present, on the one hand, an almost unknown historical heritage through multimedia presentation, and on the other hand, set up an information tool for restoration, maintenance and valorization.
AB - Rad predstavlja prikaz rezultata zasnovanog na integraciji tradicionalnih (analognih) i instrumentalnih (digitalnih) metoda snimanja nasleđa.
