abstract = "Structure: the manner in which the parts of the whole are arranged. [1] The question of structure in architecture in the 21st century has been widely addressed. This paper aims to show the uniqueness of architectural expression that structural patterns have in contemporary architecture. The results of this paper will be shown through the discussion on the usage of pattern as a repetitive module for structure design. If we define pattern as human-made medium which has the ability to translate concepts of nature into those that are applicable in architecture due to their simplicity, then site-specific patterns are a methodological medium for achieving structural design that has strong cultural expression. Lattice structures present a moment in which structure becomes architecture. Their underlying geometry can be designed in a site-specific pattern in order to achieve unique structure for a specific context.",
