AB  - Процена квалитета дрвених конструкција је у суштини испитивање њихове статичкепостојаности и стабилности. Задаци оваквих процена по својој природи захтевају in situиспитивања, а због техничких специфичности механичког тестирања, првенствено суусмерена на недеструктивне методолошке приступе. Високи стандарди који сепостављају за испитивање архитектонских објеката од културно-историјског значаја,што се пре свега односи на очување њиховог интегритета и аутентичности, усмерилису и ово истраживање ка успостављању једне поуздане, недеструктивне методе која ћебити коришћена у те сврхе. Успостављање такве методе je подразумевало њенокалибрисање, јер у досадашњој пракси није било директне еквилизације параметарамеханички и недеструктивно одређене чврстоће уграђеног дрвета. Ултразвучни истрес-звучни таласи који се иначе примењују за недеструктивне процене механичкихпотенцијала дрвета – на основу брзине пропагације њихових таласа, давали су самомогућност израчунавања динамичког модула еластичности. Добијање и статичкогмодула еластичности ради корелисања параметара различитих модалитета тестирања,подразумевало је и паралелно механичко испитивање датог дрвеног материјала.Баждарењем стрес-звучне методе испитивања дрвета – по аналогном принципуусмеравања силе притиска и звучних таласа, a у односу на правац тока дрвнихвлаканаца, постигнута је еквилизација параметара брзине пропагације звука ипараметара чврстоће дрвета. Овим је била успостављена метода за in situ проценучврстоће носећих елемената дрвених архитектонских конструкција, поређењем састандрадом прописаним допуштеним напрезањима (JUS U.C9.200/300) који је датспрам врсте, класе дрвета и њихових димензија. Узимајући у обзир да је баждарењестрес-звучне методе вршено на епруветама исецаним од здравог дрвета одређенехигроскопне влажности, in situ процена чврстоће носећих конструктивних елемата јемогла да се врши и на основу познатих брзина пропагације звука кроз здраво дрво.Резултати рада овог истраживања, на основу спектралне анализе пропагације звучнихталаса, показују да је њиховом применом могућа директна процена чврстоће носећих6дрвених греда, а тиме и стабилности конструкција, чиме је постигнут циљ овогистраживања.
AB  - Wooden structures’ quality assessment is, basically, testing their static strength and stability.This kind of assessment, by its nature, requires in situ testing, and due to specific technicalcharacteristics of mechanical testing, it is primarily based on using uninvasivemethodological approaches. High standards set to test architectural objects of cultural andhistorical significance, which, above all, refer to preserving their integrity and authenticity,directed this research towards establishing a reliable uninvasive method which will be usedfor that purpose. Establishing such a method required its calibrating since there had not beena direct equalisation of mechanically and uninvasively set parameters for the hardness ofinbuilt wood. Ultrasound and stress waves commonly used in uninvasive assessment ofmechanical potentials of wood based on the speed of their waves’ propagation only enabledcalculating the dynamic elasticity modulus. Getting the static elasticity modulus, in order tocorrelate the parameters of different testing modalities, required parallel mechanical testing ofthat particular wooden material. The scaling of stress sound method for testing the hardnessof wood, using the analogue principle of directing pressure force and sound waves inaccordance with wood fibers direction, resulted in the speed of sound propagation and thehardness of wood parameters’ equalisation. In this way a method for in situ assessments ofthe hardness of carrying elements in wooden architectural structures was established, bycomparing it with the standard based on the strain limits (JUS U.C9.200/300), in accordancewith the kind, class and dimensions of timber. Considering the fact that stress sound methodscaling was done on test tubes cut out of healthy wood with particular hygroscopic moisture,in situ assessment of carrying structural elements could be done based on known speedvalues of sound propagation in healthy wood. The results of our research, based on thespectral analysis of sound wave propagation, show that their application enables a directassessment of the carrying wooden beams’ hardness and, therefore, a direct assessment of thestructure stability itself, thus meeting the objective of this research.

Application of multi-criteria analysis in the process of energy renewal of residential buildings

AB  - The subject of this paper is multi-criteria analysis of the selection of the best group of measures
for energy efficiency improvement of multifamily housing. Selection of the optimal sets of
measures for energy efficiency improvement is made on the basis of multi-criteria optimization
using the method of multi-criteria compromise ranking of alternative solutions - AHP method
(Analytical Hierarchical Process). The goal of the analysis is to select the best combination of
measures for energy renewal of the existing building, or the best variant of a series of offered
favourable variants in terms of adopted criteria and defined limitations. For the purpose of energy
renewal of the existing building and according to recommendations of national regulations,
five measures for energy efficiency improvement was adopted. The measures include the
thermal performances improvement of non-transparent and transparent parts of the thermal
envelope of the building and the use of renewable energy sources, respectively integration of
solar thermal collectors into the building envelope. For multi-criteria optimization, a set of the
following five criteria is adopted, according to which alternatives are evaluated: annual final
energy consumption for heating; annual primary energy consumption for heating; annual CO2
emissions; investment costs for energy renovation of buildings and return period of investment
means. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the efficacy of AHP method in practice when is
necessary to reach an optimal decision in selecting the best measures for improving the energy
performance of buildings. Finally, ranking of alternatives is done according to selected scenarios
of different combinations of criteria weight.

Refurbishment of post-war prefabricated multifamily buildings

AB  - Several suburban settlements had been built in Belgrade after the World War II. In that time, a
few prefabricated systems were mostly in use in our country which resulted in housing settlements
consisting of numerous buildings with the same or similar layouts. They are all characterized
by poor energy performance causing high energy consumption (for heating and cooling)
and CO2 emissions. One of the examples of such architecture is the Konjarnikhousing settlement.
Different scenarios-hypothetical models for the energy performance improvement of the
envelope of the central block of the prefabricated multifamily building in Konjarnik are created.
The design of improvements of the envelope of the existing buildings is created according to
Belgrade’s climatic conditions, building orientation and technical characteristics of the building
structure.The assessment of the reduction in energy consumption for space heating and thus
the reduction of CO2 emissions has been carried out in the paper. Methodological approach
entails the following steps: creation of models of the improvement of existing buildings, consideration
of the results of thermodynamic simulations of energy performances of the modelsin
terms of energy consumption and CO2 emissions, and comparison of the results (models).

Principles and modes of new media architecture

AB  - The contemporary age is marked by the rapidly advanced digital revolution, unstoppable rise of computer technologies and omnipresence of technological advancements in all aspects of everyday life. In the information era, computer technologies have become pervasive, ubiquitous and dominant. Their hybridization with previously present media forms resulted in the emergence of a new and exuberant field of new media and technologies. New media is a hybrid field of computer based technological forms, which are used in contemporary practice, not only as tool, but also as an expressive medium. Because of the complex nature of new media, the field is extremely hybrid, positioned at the intersection of art, science and culture. Its emerged cultural paradigm is scientific culture, in which dominant characteristics are technological art and cultural forms, as well as information and techno society. In this overall context, architecture is not an isolated phenomenon. The new media have influenced the field of architecture too, offering new possibilities, features, design methodologies and principles for conceptualizing and developing architectural space. In architectural practice different modalities of the new media are being used. These modalities initiated the emergence of the field of new media architecture. The distinction of these state-of-the-art types of architectural space, together with the principles and concepts they rely on, were the main focus and main contribution of the research presented in this paper.
AB  - Savremeno doba obeleženo je digitalnom revolucijom, rapidnim usponom računarskih tehnologija, kao i opštom tehnologizacijom svakodnevice. U informatičkoj eri, računarske tehnologije postale su dominantne, a uparene sa ranije prisutnim medijskim formama, oformile su bujno polje novih medija i tehnologija. Novi mediji predstavljaju hibridnu oblast računarski zasnovanih tehnoloških formi u kojima se tehnologije pojavljuju i u ulozi ekspresivnog medija. Zbog kompleksne prirode novih medija oblast predstavlja izrazito interdisciplinarno polje na preseku umetnosti, nauke i kulture, a kulturološka paradigma koju je ovo polje ustanovilo odlikuju izrazito naučna kultura, tehnologizovana umetnost i informaciono društvo. U ovakvoj situaciji, ni arhitektura nije izolovan fenomen, pa je prodor novih medija ustanovio nove pojave, postupke, kao i principe za konceptualizaciju i realizaciju prostora u arhitekturi. Pojava novih medija u arhitekturi podrazumeva njihove različite modalitete primene, koji su uslovili razvoj novih i specifičnih tipova prostora. Specificiranje tipova ovakvih prostora, zajedno sa principima i konceptima na kojima se zasnivaju, predmet je istraživanja koje je predstavljeno u radu koji sledi.

AB  - For many years, in global practice, there are standards and procedures in design
documentation, based on building elements, concerning their place and function on the
object. Many countries have been developing the classification based on the elements of the
building for several decades. This paper presents the most important classifications based on

AB  - The Building Information Modeling (BIM) was regarded as the revolutionary approach
to computer assisted building design, but everyday experience with BIM applications
like Revit and ArchiCAD demonstrates inconsistencies with this view. The paper
demonstrates three main limitations that influence recent lack of unified principle
behind BIM applications and proposes more realistic view of the BIM field. If users
have a clear idea what existing tools provide they will know how best to use existing
applications and then to make requests for improvements that would go toward creation
of BIM principles.

AB  - The research is devoted to the creation of a model for classifying building elements and related sitework in the design documentation. The nature of the design and construction process requires creation and collection of a wide range of information at each stage of the of the building life cycle. Specifics of this process requires a clear format which will provide transmission of the information consistently among different phases. Directions of construction development and tendencies of the world’s highly developed systems indicate that it is necessary to pay more attention to the process preceding the construction, which certainly includes the detailed planning and coordination of design and building documentation, leading to the most important goals, such as improving quality, reducing time and controling construction costs. The processing of the design documentation is a necessary element in the contracting process for building construction and it is required in order to comply with both national and international standards and provide an easier management of the building process, as well as faster and more accurate construction cost estimates in the early stages of the investment cycle. Analysis of the state of local and global practice crystallized and formed the subject of research: the lack of clearly formulated, science-based nomenclature and classification, which would allow standardization in the development of the design documentation, and therefore improve the relations and processes in all stages of the building life cycle. Structured and standardized design documentation becomes the common link for the transmision of data, descriptions, monitoring and evaluation informations throughout all phases of the project. The research has resulted in the definition of specific criteria according to which a standardized model of classification was formed, based on the elements of the building according to the place and function of the building. The purpose of the model is to provide clear communication between participants in the building process in terms of workload and costs in each stage of the building life cycle. A model of classification based on building elements becomes a design documentation constant base in the highly dynamic process of designing and constructing. At the same time, the model provides flexibility in the further development of building technology and the application of the materials. The model is not dependent on the economic and technological changes that are inevitable, since, it sets the building into a logical, central position in the construction process...
AB  - Тема истраживања је формирање модела класификације елемената архитектонских објеката у техничкој документацији. Природа процеса пројектовања и изградње објеката захтева стварање и сакупљање информација широког спектра у свакој фази животног циклуса архитектонског објекта. Специфичности овог процеса захтевају јасне формате у којима ће информације конзистентно да се преносе из фазе у фазу. Правци развоја грађења и тенденције високоразвијених система у свету указују да је потребно обратити више пажње процесима који претходе самој градњи, у које сигурно спада и подробно планирање и усклађивање форми израде техничке документације, што води најважнијим циљевима у изградњи, а то су унапређење квалитета, скраћење времена и контролисани трошкови грађења. Ниво обрађености техничке документације, која је неопходни елемент процеса уговарања за изградњу објекта, потребно је да одговара како домаћим, тако и светским стандардима и да омогући лакше управљање процесом изградње и бржу и прецизнију процену трошкова грађења у раним фазама инвестиционог циклуса. Анализом стања у домаћој и светској пракси искристалисао се и обликовао предмет истраживања: недостатак јасно формулисане, научно засноване номенклатуре и класификације, која би омогућила стандардизацију у изради техничке документације, а самим тим и унапредила односе и процесе у свим фазама животног циклуса архитектонских објеката.Форматизована и стандардизована техничка документација постаје заједничка нит за пренос података, описа, праћење и евалуацију кроз све фазе пројекта. Реализовано истраживање има за резултат дефинисање конкретних критеријума, чијом применом је формиран стандардизован модел класификације, базиран на елементима зграде према месту и функцији на објекту, неопходан је у циљу омогућавања јасне комуникације између учесника у изградњи у погледу обима послова и трошкова у свакој фази животног циклуса зграде. Овако формиран модел класификације елемената у техничкој документацији представља константу у изузетно динамичном процесу пројектовања и грађења архитектонског објекта.
