Application of clay elements in the process of resource conscious renovation of existing façades

Abstract

Questioning of existing building fund, for the purpose of improvement living conditions by the raise of the living comfort, is a current problem whose solving could provide energy saving new esthetic qualities, favorable ecological conditions and cost effectiveness. This paper deals with one aspect of this problem that could be identified as the revitalization of existing façades by the use of clay elements. The choice of the subject has been guided with potentials and actual presence of brick and clay elements in nowadays façade concepts, as well as with advantages of their implementation regarding thermal reconstruction of existing buildings.

Preispitivanje postojećeg stambenog fonda, u cilju poboljšanja životnih uslova, podizanje nivoa stambenog komfora u njima, aktuelni su problemi čijim se rešavanjem mogu postići energetske uštede, estetski kvaliteti, ekološke pogodnosti i ekonomske isplativosti. Rad se bavi jednim delom revitalizacijom fasada postojećih objekata opekarskim elementima. Izbor teme rada rukovođen je mogućnostima i aktuelnošću vidne opeke i opekarskih elemenata u koncipiranju i osmišljavanju fasada kao i prednostima njihove primene u energetskoj rekonstrukciji postojećih objekata.
