An architectural discourse on urban railroad transport systems in European context is presented in this paper.
Metro and light rail systems are briefly compared and international practice discussed. As a case study, the
proposals of metro and light rail transport in Belgrade are concisely reviewed and the budget crucial role is
recognized. Five attached figures are specially completed for this paper.
